I gave a print of this photo to my Grandad for his birthday as this is the area he worked in before retiring. Here is what he had to say about it: "The older building in the right foreground is the Port of London building, just to the left of it is the LLoyds building. I started work in The City in 1955 when my office was in Fenchurch St which runs parallel to the river and between the P.L.A.building and LLoyds. For many years I parked my car alongside the P.L.A.building, no meters or any other charges in those happy days."
Tower Bridge, often misquoted as being called London Bridge (which is actually a little further up the river), is one of London's most famous landmarks. Here I feel the lights reflecting on the water lead you into the bridge.
The combination of the historic landmark Tower Bridge on the left alongside the new City Hall on the right as part of the More London development shows how London is moving forwards architecturally.
