A selection of my favourite landscape photos that I have taken on my travels around the world.
Stars over Damhussøen at Night - Copenhagen, Denmark. Spring, April 2014 - Michael Masser Photography
After being extremely busy for a while I decided it was time to shoot some landscapes again. On the first clear night for what seemed like forever I cycled down to Damhussøen which was only 15 minutes and tried my best to take advantage of the good weather.
Puddles at Amagerstrand during Sunset HDR - Copenhagen, Denmark
After an early start and a busy day I saw the sky was setting up for a nice sunset. A quick grab of the camera bag and a brisk walk to the beach allowed me to get there just in time to get this shot.
Amagerstrand Beach Pier at Night - Copenhagen, Denmark
I felt a light night walk to the beach was in order recently and although it was windy it was definitely worth it.
I set my tripod up and fired the shutter standing in the way of the wind to try and minimise any camera shake.
Stars Over Amagerstrand - Amager, Copenhagen, Denmark
After an evening with friends I got back to my apartment and the view of the stars from my balcony was too good to miss.
Sunset over Copenhagen from Amagerstrand - Copenhagen, Denmark
A quick 10 minute walk from my house is the Copenhagen's man made beach. Looking west back across the water you can see the island of Amager, part of the capital city of Copenhagen. This photo was taken using Graduated ND filters instead of my usual HDR process. This allowed for slower shutter speeds than would have normally been possible.
Ullswater after Sunset - Lake District, England, UK
Recently I took a trip to the Lake District to visit my family. This was taken just after sunset on the side of Ullswater. Thanks goes to my father for the great location.
Stars From Memorial Hill at Amherst College HDR - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA
On a clear spring/summer night in Amherst on the Amherst College campus away from the lights of cities like Boston you get a great view of the stars.
Sunset Through The Trees At Amherst College HDR - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA
After a drive back from Boston via Puffer's Pond, my girlfriend and I were walking back to her dorm ready to pack it up post graduation and the sun was bursting through the trees creating a tunnel of light. Luckily, like a good photographer, I had my camera with me.
Lincoln Park and North Chicago at sunset from The Signature Lounge at the Ninety Sixth at the John Hancock Center HDR - Chicago, Illinois, USA
This was taken from The Signature Lounge on the 96th floor of the John Hancock Centre. Nice chilled lounge, great smoothies. We were lucky to be up there for sunset, the timing worked perfectly.
This is looking north towards Lincoln Park. You can just about make out the Zoo Lights at Lincoln Park Zoo which were a really fun part of the trip.
Willis Tower and South Chicago from above at sunset from The Signature Lounge at the Ninety Sixth at the John Hancock Center HDR - Chicago, Illinois, USA
Looking south from the Signature Lounge you can see Willis Tower (Sears Tower) in the distance.
Frozen South Pond and the Chicago Skyline from Lincoln Park Zoo HDR - Chicago, Illinois, USA

Beams of Light through the Skyscrapers and the Trees at the Miracle Mile Mighican Avenue North Bank of the Chicago River HDR - Chicago, Illinois, USA
The sun reflecting off the buildings by the Chicago River created some really interesting beams.
CN Tower and the Toronto Skyline from the Toronto Islands on Lake Ontario - Toronto, Ontario, Canada
This was taken on my last night in Toronto before driving to Chicago the next morning. It was ridiculously cold stood on the pier looking back at the city but I think it was worth the waiting. This is probably my favourite shot from Toronto.
Union Station HDR - Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Toronto's main station certainly has a feel of New York's Grand Central Station.
Escalators in the Stockholm Subway, Solna Centrum HDR -Stockholm, Sweden
One of the best things to see whilst in Stockholm are the metro stations. I did a little bit of research beforehand and they looked interesting enough, but let's be honest who wants to spend most of their time underground? Turns out, this guy! In person they are incredible.
Escalators in the Stockholm Subway Universitetet Tunnelbanan Metro Leading to Frescati Campus HDR - Stockholm University, Stockholm, Sweden
Uppsala Domkyrka Cathedral in the rain HDR - Uppsala, Sweden
A very rainy walk around Uppsala did nothing to detract from the the tallest church building in Scandinavia.
Stockholm at Night towards Gamla Stan from Monteliusvägen HDR - Stockholm, Sweden
Monteliusvägen is a 500-meter long (quarter mile) walking path with a number of magnificent views. This is looking towards the old town of Gamla Stan.

Sunset on the horizon at Stanage Edge HDR - Peak District, Sheffield, England, United Kingdom
This is one of my favourite places in the Peak District National Park. After a short hike and a small climb down the cliff I sat and watched this gorgeous sunset as it hit the horizon.
Boston North End at Night HDR - Boston, Massachusetts, USA
This was the view from my hotel room of the historic North End. You can see some of Boston's landmarks such as Custom House, Faneuil Hall and even Quincy Market.
Massachusetts State House HDR - Boston, Massachusetts, USA
As part of the Heritage Walk, the gold dome on top of the State House can even be seen from Cambridge.
Boston Public Library HDR - Boston, Massachusetts, USA
Walking around Boston I stumbled across the Public Library. I like the message "Dedicated to the Advancement of Learning". Such a great cause.

Sitting at Puffer's Pond in Amherst, Massachusetts and watching the sunset couldn't have been a more relaxing, nice, still, warm, spring evening.

An early spring walk around Amherst College's campus allowed some great photo opportunities.
Boston Custom House HDR - Boston, Massachusetts, USA
Walking through Boston I noticed the reflection of the Custom House. As I turned around the sun broke through down the street. There's nothing like lucky timing.
Setting sun at the Botanical Gardens HDR - Sheffield, England, UK
After a lovely spring afternoon relaxing with my friend I noticed the sun was setting behind the Glass Houses. One of those times that remind you that you should always have a camera with you.
Sunset from Brooklyn Bridge HDR - New York City, New York, HDR
On New Years Eve 2011 I was lucky enough to be on Brooklyn Bridge at sunset. After this shot I headed up to Times Square for the festivities.

You can not go to New York without going to see the Statue of Liberty at least once. It's as simple as that.
South Coast Manhattan Skyline from Statue Ferry HDR - New York City, New York, USA
During the ferry ride over to Liberty Island you get a great view of the New York skyline including the World Trade Center.
