A selection of my favourite landscape photos that I have taken on my travels around the world.
Stars over Damhussøen at Night - Copenhagen, Denmark. Spring, April 2014 - Michael Masser Photography
After being extremely busy for a while I decided it was time to shoot some landscapes again. On the first clear night for what seemed like forever I cycled down to Damhussøen which was only 15 minutes and tried my best to take advantage of the good weather.
Puddles at Amagerstrand during Sunset HDR - Copenhagen, Denmark
After an early start and a busy day I saw the sky was setting up for a nice sunset. A quick grab of the camera bag and a brisk walk to the beach allowed me to get there just in time to get this shot.
Amagerstrand Beach Pier at Night - Copenhagen, Denmark
I felt a light night walk to the beach was in order recently and although it was windy it was definitely worth it.
I set my tripod up and fired the shutter standing in the way of the wind to try and minimise any camera shake.
Stars Over Amagerstrand - Amager, Copenhagen, Denmark
After an evening with friends I got back to my apartment and the view of the stars from my balcony was too good to miss.
Sunset over Copenhagen from Amagerstrand - Copenhagen, Denmark
A quick 10 minute walk from my house is the Copenhagen's man made beach. Looking west back across the water you can see the island of Amager, part of the capital city of Copenhagen. This photo was taken using Graduated ND filters instead of my usual HDR process. This allowed for slower shutter speeds than would have normally been possible.
Ullswater after Sunset - Lake District, England, UK
Recently I took a trip to the Lake District to visit my family. This was taken just after sunset on the side of Ullswater. Thanks goes to my father for the great location.
Stars From Memorial Hill at Amherst College HDR - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA
On a clear spring/summer night in Amherst on the Amherst College campus away from the lights of cities like Boston you get a great view of the stars.
Sunset Through The Trees At Amherst College HDR - Amherst, Massachusetts, USA
After a drive back from Boston via Puffer's Pond, my girlfriend and I were walking back to her dorm ready to pack it up post graduation and the sun was bursting through the trees creating a tunnel of light. Luckily, like a good photographer, I had my camera with me.
Lincoln Park and North Chicago at sunset from The Signature Lounge at the Ninety Sixth at the John Hancock Center HDR - Chicago, Illinois, USA
This was taken from The Signature Lounge on the 96th floor of the John Hancock Centre. Nice chilled lounge, great smoothies. We were lucky to be up there for sunset, the timing worked perfectly.
This is looking north towards Lincoln Park. You can just about make out the Zoo Lights at Lincoln Park Zoo which were a really fun part of the trip.
Willis Tower and South Chicago from above at sunset from The Signature Lounge at the Ninety Sixth at the John Hancock Center HDR - Chicago, Illinois, USA
Looking south from the Signature Lounge you can see Willis Tower (Sears Tower) in the distance.
Frozen South Pond and the Chicago Skyline from Lincoln Park Zoo HDR - Chicago, Illinois, USA
Looking back towards the skyline from Lincoln Park Zoo I noticed the South Pond was almost entirely frozen over.
Beams of Light through the Skyscrapers and the Trees at the Miracle Mile Mighican Avenue North Bank of the Chicago River HDR - Chicago, Illinois, USA
The sun reflecting off the buildings by the Chicago River created some really interesting beams.
